Each child at Haven is offered activities, materials, and experiences designed for their developmental stage, while learning alongside peers within their age group in a safe, nurturing environment.
Child-to-Teacher Ratios
Child-to-Teacher Ratios
We strive to maintain ratios lower than state requirements, with additional staff available throughout the day to support children’s safety, learning, and individual needs. Please note that the classroom age ranges below are state-by-state dependent.
Infants
6 weeks – 12 months
Haven welcomes infants as young as six or eight weeks, depending on your state. For infants, programming focuses on providing a sense of continued love and security for each child while also giving them the opportunities they thrive on to explore their brand-new world.
Are you still nursing or bottle feeding? Haven invites parents and caregivers who are still nursing to continue to build this essential bond with their child. Each Haven location offers private feeding suites.
Yearlings
12 - 24 months
Between 12 and 24 months, infants transition into our young toddler or “yearling” program, designed to nurture a toddler’s emerging curiosity. We create an environment that supports safe exploration, such as walking, talking, creative movement, and climbing, while maintaining a strong sense of love and security. At this stage, we also gently introduce predictable routines while still following each child’s individual needs.
Toddler
24 - 36 months
This is a period of significant cognitive development, and we will engage in a whole range of movement and cerebrally stimulating activities like creative movement, playing make-believe, and immersing children in art. Kids will be on a predictable yet themed schedule throughout their weeks. We will spend ample time outside, digging and building, climbing, creating and surfing the emotional waves of two together.
All Weather Play
All children in our program will spend an ample amount of time exploring their surroundings outdoors. Beginning at the toddler stage, we will include water play during appropriate months and snow-day play during suitable winter weather events. Both activities will require parents’ approval.
Preschool & Prekindergarten
36 - 58 months
Our team will help our preschoolers as they break down the “hows” and “whys” of the world and comfort them when they feel overwhelmed. It goes without saying that our preschoolers are truly grappling with the textures, tones, and expressions that will blossom into the cornerstones of their personalities.
We introduce our preschoolers to their full range of reading, writing, numbers, and letters, and how to use them in their communication. These focuses will help them enhance their cognitive development and familiarize them with the dynamics of community/cultural inclusion. We will also keep a watchful eye on their interests, helping them foster deeper love and understanding for their own unique tastes.
Beyond Haven Years
Our childcare and early education program is designed to help children feel secure, confident, and prepared for their transition into school-age learning.
As families prepare for life after Haven, we assist with kindergarten placement and provide guidance based on each location’s trusted school affiliations. Our goal is to extend the warmth, care, and connection children experience at Haven well beyond their early years.
Enrichment Opportunities
Our programs are enriched with experiences that support creativity, emotional well-being, and whole-child development, including:

- Sign language for early communication
